Cancel your subscription
Subscriptions run through Google Play, so you cancel there. Subscriptions are not on sale yet; these steps apply once they are.
- Open the Play Store and tap your profile picture.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Choose esc., then tap Cancel subscription.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. Refunds are handled by Google Play.
Common questions
What does esc. use Accessibility for?
Accessibility lets esc. see which app is open while your mode is active. When a closed app opens, esc. brings you back to the conversation. esc. does not read screen text, messages, notifications, passwords, contacts, or content inside other apps.
What is sent to OpenAI?
To reply, esc. sends OpenAI your current message, up to six recent messages from this chat, your mode and session counts, and the app you tried to open, when available. If you turned the driving check on, it also sends whether you seem to be driving. Your screen, installed apps, notifications, contacts, and other messages stay on your phone. OpenAI doesn't train on them by default and may keep them for up to 30 days to check for abuse.
How do I stop a session?
Open the three-dot menu in the session, tap End session, and confirm. Your phone opens right away and your setup stays saved. Ending Sleep skips the rest of that window; it starts again on its next selected day. To stop a Sleep schedule from starting, tap Cancel Sleep schedule on Home.
Why is esc. stricter when I keep coming back?
A first clear task can earn five minutes in one app. After that, esc. needs the exact app and task. After repeated tries in the same session it opens nothing and keeps the conversation direct until the session ends.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions run through Google Play. Open the Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, Subscriptions, esc., and Cancel subscription. If Home shows Subscription, Manage subscription there takes you to the same place. Cancelling stops the next renewal.
How do I clear what esc. remembers?
Open Privacy from Home and tap Clear local memory. That removes the session counts and notes stored on this device. esc. keeps no chat transcripts, and session counts only leave your phone if you turn on Send session counts with chats.
Can I still call or use Maps?
Yes. Emergency in the session menu opens Phone and Maps with one tap, in every mode and however many times you have come back.
