Terms
These terms cover your use of the esc. app and its subscription, in plain language. By using esc. you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use esc.
Who we are
esc. is provided by Vecti Tech Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 16941866. Our registered office is at Unit A, 82 James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE, United Kingdom. Contact us at support@enteresc.app or via www.enteresc.app/support.
Who can use esc.
You must be 18 or over to use esc. and to buy a subscription.
What esc. is
esc. closes your phone, or the apps you choose, while a mode you set is active, and puts a short conversation between you and the urge to reopen them. It is not a medical, therapy or emergency service. Emergency actions (Phone and Maps) stay available while a mode is active.
esc. replies are generated by an AI model (run by OpenAI) and can be wrong. It can only offer what the app can actually do. You stay in control: you can end a session from the app at any time. You can report a reply from the app.
esc. is not a crisis service. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, call 999, or call Samaritans free on 116 123.
Free and paid parts
- The app is free to download for Android.
- Your first complete protected session with the esc. agent needs no payment method. After that, talking to the agent needs a subscription.
- Without a subscription you can still set up modes, use protection, end sessions, use emergency actions, repair permissions, use privacy controls, clear local memory, restore purchases and manage your subscription.
Subscription, trial and renewal
- Subscriptions are sold through Google Play as monthly or yearly plans. At launch in the United Kingdom the price is £4.99 a month or £39.99 a year. The price you pay, the billing period and any free trial are shown in the app and by Google Play before you confirm, and that price includes any VAT.
- If Google Play offers you a 7-day free trial, it starts only when you confirm the Google Play purchase flow. You are not charged during the trial. Unless you cancel before it ends, your chosen plan starts and you are charged through Google Play.
- Plans renew automatically each month or year, at the price then in force, until you cancel. If the price changes, Google Play will tell you beforehand and you can cancel before the new price applies.
- To cancel, open Google Play, go to Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, choose esc. and cancel. You can also use “Manage subscription” in the app. Cancel before the trial or period ends to avoid the next charge. Cancelling stops future renewals; access normally continues until the end of the paid period.
- Changing your mind: UK law normally gives you 14 days to cancel after buying a subscription online. Because you buy through Google Play, you ask for a refund there (your order history in Google Play, or Google Play Help). If you cannot get a refund the law gives you, email us and we will help.
- If esc. is faulty or not as described, you have legal rights, which may include a repair, a replacement or a refund. Nothing in these terms affects those rights.
- Trial and paid use has no monthly message allowance, but each conversation has built-in safety limits (at most five of your messages per attempt, and a cap on replies in a rolling 30-minute window).
- You can restore an existing subscription in the app with “Restore purchase”.
Using esc. fairly
Do not misuse the service, attack it, or try to get around its checks. We may limit or stop access to protect the service.
Our responsibility
We provide esc. with reasonable care and skill. We work to keep it running but cannot promise it will always be available or uninterrupted, or that it will stop you opening an app in every case. Android or your phone maker can stop esc. from running.
If we break these terms, we are responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for business losses (esc. is for personal use), or for events outside our reasonable control. We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not let us limit. Nothing in these terms reduces your legal rights as a consumer, including your rights if esc. is faulty or damages your device.
Ending and changes
You can stop using esc. at any time by uninstalling it; cancel any subscription in Google Play as well. We may change esc. or these terms. For a significant change that affects subscribers we will give at least 30 days’ notice in the app or on this page, and you can cancel before it applies.
Law and complaints
If something has gone wrong, email support@enteresc.app and we will try to put it right. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales; if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also use the courts there.
